BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – This weekend, local businesses gathered at the Sloan Convention Center for the 2024 Home Expo, hosted by the Builders Association of South Central Kentucky.
BASCKY calls it a “one-stop shop” where people can connect to discuss home improvement and design, discover innovative products and learn from local businesses.
President of BASCKY Cody Preston said the event is an opportunity to get to know who you’re buying from and what the product or service is really like.
“We’re in the day of everybody ordering everything offline and sometimes you get it and you don’t like it, and the product is not what it’s supposed to be and the quality isn’t there,” Preston said. “This gives you a great opportunity to see what you can actually get locally and be able to see everything else they have to offer.”
Joe Hire with Hobdy, Dye & Read Inc., a servicing dealer that sells a wide variety of equipment, has been attending the Home Expo for eight or nine years.
“We just like the atmosphere, we feel like it’s a local thing that we need to be a part of, and it’s just fun,” Hire said. “It’s just a good place to hang out.”
Many event-goers attend to gather new ideas for building or renovating their home.
“I just wanted to see what was new and exciting in the line of home improvements,” Donna, a visitor in the process of remodeling, said.
The expo runs this weekend from March 1-3. On Sunday, it is open from 1 pm to 5 pm Tickets are one for $10 or two for $15. They can be bought at the door or online.
